Chief Executive
Claire Harrison
As Chief Executive, Claire is responsible for the strategic direction of the organisation. A Better Business Case practitioner and passionate about communication, Claire prides herself on removing the traditional techy jargon of the digital world to ensure Parallel’s software solutions solve our client’s data challenges.

In her spare time, Claire enjoys days out with her young family and pulling on her trainers for a run in the East Yorkshire countryside.
Business Manager
Nadine Christopher
Nadine keeps everything running smoothly at Parallel, focusing on business finances and procurement. She’s experienced in business administration and has a background in data and analytics.

Her favourite thing in the world is to visit new places with her two little girls, and she’s in her element at a 90s silent disco!
Head of Software
Gareth O'Toole
Gareth O’Toole joined the Parallel team in 2024 as Head of Software, where he works with the team to continue to develop Parallel’s products, processes and people. Gareth’s very experienced in the technology sector, with 25+ years of experience in software development, project management and technology leadership.

When not at work, he loves wildlife photography, and has two dogs and a foul mouthed parrot.
Senior Developer
Giles Billingsley
Giles is a Parallel original, having been with the company over 20 years. He’s got experience in everything: from CD-ROMs and interactive kiosks, to data driven web apps and web mapping, specialising in JS, SQL Server, VB, PostGIS & Mapbox!

When not at work, Giles continues his quest for the optimum combination of drinking coffee and eating cake.
Data and Information Analyst
Achyut Ratkanthiwar
Achyut has a degree in Computer Science, and a Masters in Business Analytics and Decision Sciences with specialisms in data analysis and AI algorithms. He started his career in software engineering, and has developed an AI device for visually impaired people to understand their surroundings.

Achyut’s from India, where he spent five years teaching maths to homeless children – amazing. He’s also a massive cricket fan, and loves his kitten, Levi.
Product Lead
Michael Boland
With a first class degree in Computer Science, Michael’s specialism is building websites and web apps. Michael previously worked in the SaaS sector, and he knows the SHAPE software inside and out, applying that knowledge to delivering training to help people get the most out of the platform.

Michael’s got a beautiful Shepsky dog, which takes him on a long walk every evening – the perfect wind down after a busy day of software development.
Graduate Developer
Matthew Page
Matthew completed a Research Masters at the University of Hull, and joined Parallel as Graduate Developer in 2024. He manages the helpdesk, provides training, manages databases and supports software development, while also working with clients to understand their requirements.

In his down time he loves to play the guitar – anything from blues improv to metal!
PR & Content Executive
Claire Robinson
Joining the team in 2023, Claire has qualifications in both marketing and events planning, with experience working in B2B and B2C. As well as coordinating Parallel’s marketing and communications activities, she also creates content for a range of media.

When not writing social posts, she’s normally found in a field of one type or another, playing for a rounders team, volunteering at a local parkrun or riding horses.
Finance Manager
Dan Marshall
Dan is a numbers whizz, keeping Parallel's finances on track. AAT qualified, and studying for a CIMA qualification, Dan’s got experience in everything from management accounts and cash, to treasury and sales ledger management.

Away from work, Dan can be found entertaining his adorable ragdoll cat, Nori, who believes he’s really a tiger (Nori, that is, not Dan).

The developers of SHAPE

Parallel is the provider and developer of the Department of Health and Social Care’s SHAPE tool, a web-enabled, evidence-based data visualisation tool that informs and supports the strategic planning of services and assets across the public sector. 

As well as developing SHAPE, Parallel also work on a range of digital projects that use their expertise in data visualisation and interactive mapping. This includes everything from creating a GP Catchment Check tool, to managing data for project management platforms, and working with academic research projects on innovative ways to map the prevalence of metabolic diseases.
