Parallel reappointed to G-Cloud 14 framework
Specialist software development organisation Parallel has been reappointed to the Crown Commercial Service’s G-Cloud 14 framework.
The framework is available for use by public sector organisations to buy cloud-based computing services, such as software and cloud hosting services.
Parallel has been reappointed to Lot 3 (Cloud Support), and is also newly appointed to Lot 2 (Cloud Software). Cloud support includes professional services to help set up and maintain cloud software or hosting services, and cloud software includes Software as a Service (SaaS) applications, accessed over the internet or private network and hosted in the cloud.
Parallel is a company specialising in interactive mapping, data visualisation and insight, supporting organisations with their data challenges through bespoke software development. A public-private partnership, majority owned by Community Health Partnerships, Parallel is best known as the provider of the Department of Health and Social Care’s SHAPE tool, and also created, maintains and manages NHS England’s ProCure23 project management platform.
Parallel helps major organisations, such as the NHS and other public sector bodies, make data-driven decisions. Services include custom mapping and visualisation products, data-driven software developments, data analysis software and planning tools to help forecast future trends and digitisation.
Parallel Chief Executive Claire Harrison said: “We’re delighted to have been reappointed to the G-Cloud 14 framework, giving current and future public sector clients a way to work with us to deliver their data and digitisation projects. The appointment to two lots means we’re able to expand the range of services we can offer clients, including creating cloud software to help public sector clients manage and use their data.”
G-Cloud 14 replaces the previous G-Cloud 13 framework, and will build on many of the benefits of the previous agreement, including access to multiple suppliers and cloud services (many of them SMEs), a quick and easy route to market, and access to the latest cloud technology and innovation.
G-Cloud 14 also allows a longer call-off contract length of 36 months, plus a 12 month extension option to a maximum term of four years.
The new framework can be used from 9 November 2024.
